José González Shares New Single ‘El Invento’

It’s his first new music in six years…José González has shared his new single ‘El Invento’ – tune in now.
The Swedish artist has been quiet of late, stepping a step back from music to focus on himself, and his family.
Freshly signed to City Slang, he’s working on a new album, his first since 2015.
The new material encompasses a number of firsts, beginning with Spanish language song ‘El Invento’.
Online now, it’s a beautiful return, with José González digging into his Argentinian heritage.
Debuted last year during a performance for the 2020 Nobel Prize Award Ceremonies, it was inspired by the birth of his daughter.
He comments…
“Every now and then I try to write lyrics in Spanish – this time I succeeded! I guess talking to Laura in Spanish every day helped. I started writing ‘El Invento’ around 2017 when she was born. The song is about the questions – who we are, where we’re going and why? Whom can we thank for our existence? Historically, most traditions have invented answers to these questions. Thereof the name of the song: The Invention (god).”
Tune in now.
